GAZA CITY, 3 July 2024– The Israeli military has conducted airstrikes in Gaza's designated 'safe zone,' resulting in the deaths of at least 12 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported that among the 12 fatalities, 9 were members of a single family. The airstrikes occurred on Tuesday, local time, and have intensified the ongoing conflict in the region.

In addition to the airstrikes, Israeli military operations are also targeting refugee camps in Khan Yunis. Tel Aviv forces are using considerable force to evacuate residents, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

The United Nations has reported a significant increase in the number of displaced Palestinians due to the recent Israeli operations. At least 250,000 Palestinians have fled their homes in the Khan Yunis refugee camp. This surge in displacement has brought the total number of displaced individuals in Gaza to nearly 1.9 million.

The international community has expressed concern over the escalating violence and the humanitarian impact on civilians. The UN and various humanitarian organizations are calling for immediate ceasefires and increased aid to support the displaced population.

The recent airstrikes by the Israeli military in Gaza's 'safe zone' have led to significant loss of life and increased displacement among Palestinians. The situation continues to deteriorate, with calls for urgent international intervention to address the escalating conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
