Beirut, August 1 — Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its top commander, Fuad Shukur, in a missile attack in Beirut, Lebanon. The group stated that Shukur's body was recovered from the rubble of a building destroyed by Israeli forces on the night of July 31. The attack, which targeted the Dahiye area—a known Hezbollah stronghold—also resulted in the deaths of four people, including two children.

Shukur, a military adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was reportedly the main target of the missile strike. He is set to be buried today, according to Hezbollah.

The missile strike damaged several buildings and a hospital in the area. Israeli forces announced Shukur's death on Wednesday, alleging his involvement in attacks against Israelis in the Golan Heights.

The incident follows an attack on the Golan plateau on July 27, in which 12 Israelis, including children, were killed. Tel Aviv has blamed Lebanese armed groups for the attack, which has led to increased tensions and subsequent military actions.

Hezbollah's confirmation of Shukur's death marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group, heightening concerns over escalating violence in the region.
