Beirut, August 3- Hezbollah's resolve for retaliation has intensified following the recent Israeli strike that killed top commander Fuad Shukhar. The Iran-backed group is reportedly preparing for a major counterattack, with its army chief firmly rejecting any obstacles to their planned response.

In a statement, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah emphasized that the group will retaliate decisively. “There is no room for debate or discussion on this matter,” he asserted, underscoring the group’s commitment to resistance and its refusal to accept pressures or negotiations.

Nasrallah further stated that pressures on Hezbollah would be ineffective, and he urged that if anyone genuinely wishes to prevent further conflict in the Middle East, they should press Israel to halt its aggression in Gaza. He warned that Hezbollah's potential retaliation could be more severe and widespread.

The heightened tensions follow an Israeli attack on Hezbollah's stronghold in Beirut on July 30, which resulted in the death of Shukhar. Since then, Hezbollah has vowed to avenge the loss, and global leaders have been engaged in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. Despite these efforts, Hezbollah’s defiant stance suggests an imminent and possibly significant escalation of conflict.

Analysts are concerned that Hezbollah may respond in a more dangerous form, raising fears of a large-scale attack that could further destabilize the region.
