Sicily, August 19 — British tycoon Mike Lynch and his daughter are among six people missing after their luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily. The incident occurred late Sunday night when their 56-meter yacht, Bayesian, capsized during a severe storm in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to reports from Sky News, the yacht, which was British-flagged, was carrying 22 passengers and crew members. The vessel encountered hostile weather, leading to an uncontrollable inflow of water that caused it to sink.

Italian Coast Guard and Fire Service teams rescued 15 people alive, while one body has been recovered. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with divers working at a depth of 50 meters within half a mile of the accident site.

Among the passengers were nationals from the United States, Canada, France, Ireland, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Lynch, often referred to as the "British Bill Gates," is the founder of the giant software company Autonomy. The tragic incident has sparked concern as authorities continue to search for the missing individuals.
