Tanahun, August 23 — At least 14 people were killed and 17 others injured when a passenger bus fell into the Marsyongdi River in Nepal’s Tanahun district on Friday morning. All the deceased and injured are Indian nationals, according to local authorities.

The bus, carrying 40 passengers, was en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it plunged into the river. The bus, which had departed from Uttar Pradesh, India, was submerged following the accident. Rescue teams and security forces have arrived at the scene to assist with the recovery efforts.

This incident follows a recent tragedy in Nepal’s Chitwan district, where a landslide caused two buses to fall into the Trishuli River, resulting in the deaths of at least five Indian nationals.
