Tehran, Sep 15 (V7N) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, has voiced strong criticism of the "failed" sanctions policy pursued by the United States and its Western allies. Speaking on Saturday, Araqchi remarked that Western nations still rely on sanctions as a means of pressure, despite their ineffectiveness in achieving desired results with Iran.

“Sanctions are a tool of pressure and conflict, not of collaboration, and they have failed,” Araqchi stated, urging Western countries to reassess their approach. He emphasised that sanctions have not succeeded in imposing the West’s agenda on Iran and that continuing to rely on such measures would yield no progress.

Araqchi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to pursuing constructive dialogue but insisted that any negotiations must be based on mutual respect, free from threats and pressure. He indicated that Iran remains open to discussions aimed at resolving disputed issues, though the West’s reliance on sanctions undermines efforts toward a meaningful agreement.

His remarks come in response to recent accusations from the foreign ministers of Britain, France, and Germany, who claimed that Iran has been supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. Araqchi dismissed these allegations and stressed that the West is clinging to outdated and unsuccessful policies instead of seeking diplomatic solutions.

Iran has repeatedly maintained that sanctions, particularly those imposed on its economy and defence sectors, have not forced it to abandon its stance on key issues, further reinforcing Araqchi’s call for a change in Western tactics.
