A new beach in Cox’s Bazar, named "Bori Beach," has been declared off-limits to tourists to protect its environment. The Ministry of Science and Technology inaugurated the beach, which will be used exclusively for research by the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (Bori).

The beach, near Reju Khal and adjacent to Sonarpara on Marine Drive, will remain 100% clean and plastic-free, serving as a habitat for biodiversity. This initiative aims to demonstrate sustainable environmental practices and involve the local community in its maintenance.
