Oct 12 V7N -Mohamed Salah was instrumental in Egypt's 2-0 victory over Mauritania, maintaining their perfect record in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Trezeguet opened the scoring before Salah added a second, helping Egypt secure their third consecutive win and top spot in Group C, six points clear at the midway point. 

In a surprising result, Tunisia suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Comoros, with Rafiki Said netting the only goal. Despite 15 goal attempts, Tunisia failed to score and endured their first AFCON qualifying home defeat since 2010. However, they still lead Group A with six points, one point ahead of Comoros.

Nigeria narrowly edged Libya 1-0, thanks to a late goal from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Nigeria now leads Group D, five points clear of third-placed Rwanda.

Ivory Coast comfortably defeated Sierra Leone 4-1, with Franck Kessie scoring twice, despite missing a penalty. Nicolas Pepe also found the net, maintaining Ivory Coast's winning streak in Group E.

Sadio Mane and Nicolas Jackson helped Senegal secure a dominant 4-0 win over 10-man Malawi, putting Senegal level with Burkina Faso on seven points at the top of their group.

Elsewhere, Bryan Mbeumo's impressive international form continued as Cameroon cruised to a 4-1 victory over Kenya. South Africa achieved one of their biggest wins in history, thrashing Congo 5-0. Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Angola, and Mali also recorded wins, while Zambia were held to a 0-0 draw by Chad, leaving them second in their group.
