Los Angeles, Nov 02, (V7N) — The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated their first World Series championship in 36 years, bringing excitement to fans at Dodger Stadium. After defeating the New York Yankees in Game 5, the streets of L.A. erupted in celebration.

Fans started lining up for a parade as early as 3 a.m., with public transportation packed as people rushed to Downtown Los Angeles. Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow remarked on the incredible turnout, saying he didn’t know so many fans existed.

The celebration was especially significant as the Dodgers missed the chance to celebrate their 2020 championship due to COVID-19. Many players, including Clayton Kershaw and Max Muncy, expressed their joy and relief at finally being able to celebrate with the fans.

Inside Dodger Stadium, over 42,000 fans welcomed the team with a performance from Ice Cube and music from Kendrick Lamar, creating a festive atmosphere. Dodgers CEO Stan Katsen emphasized the significance of the day for everyone involved with the team.

As the team looks ahead, players like Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernández expressed their desire to continue winning championships. Betts even mentioned wanting to achieve five or six titles during his career.

Manager Dave Roberts highlighted the team’s determination to return to this winning position next year, as they aim to build on their success.
