Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen attributed her early exit from the US Open quarter-finals to a lack of sleep following her previous match, which ended at 2:15 a.m. on Monday. Zheng, who faced Aryna Sabalenka just a day and a half later, revealed that she only managed to get to bed at 5:00 a.m. and was unable to practice on Monday due to exhaustion.

After her 6-1, 6-2 loss to Sabalenka, Zheng expressed her disappointment, stating, "I couldn't sleep after I finished the match at 2:30 in the morning. I'm not able to practice yesterday because I was feeling terrible. I couldn't wake up." Despite the scheduling challenge, she accepted it as part of the sport.

Looking ahead to the Asian swing, Zheng, who will be returning to her home city of Wuhan in October, is optimistic about better conditions. She anticipates receiving more favorable match times, especially in her home country, saying, "I'm sure they will put me in prime time all the time...and I will always get the court when I want, how long I want." Zheng looks forward to playing in Wuhan, where she expects her rising profile will be recognized and celebrated.
