Dhaka, June 22 (V7N) — One more person has died from dengue fever in Bangladesh within the last 24 hours ending Sunday at 8 a.m., raising the total death toll this year to 32, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The most recent fatality was a patient receiving treatment at a hospital under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka South City Corporation, DGHS confirmed in a press release.

In the same 24-hour period, 329 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, increasing the total number of current hospitalizations to 7,758.

Among the newly admitted patients, the highest number—136 cases—were reported from the Barisal Division, indicating a surge in that region.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as dengue fever cases rise sharply during the monsoon season, urging the public to take preventive measures to curb mosquito breeding and transmission.
