Cox’s Bazar, Sep 11 (V7N) - Medical services at Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital were halted after a doctor was assaulted following the death of a patient.

Hospital staff announced on September 11 that they would not resume work unless the attackers were arrested within 24 hours.

The incident occurred around 1:30 AM on September 10, when Abdul Aziz, a critically ill patient, passed away in the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit. His relatives accused the staff of medical negligence, alleging he died after receiving a pain-relieving injection.

Dr. GRM Jihadul Islam, the hospital’s Residential Medical Officer (RMO), stated that ongoing discussions between hospital authorities, staff, and student leaders could lead to an indefinite strike if no resolution is reached.
