New York, Sep (V7N)– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong warning to Iran during his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. He stated that Israel is prepared to retaliate if Iran continues to support Hezbollah, the Lebanese armed group.

"There is no place in Iran where the long arm of Israel cannot reach," Netanyahu asserted, sending a clear message to Tehran. He emphasised that any attack from Iran would be met with Israeli military action: "If you attack, we will also attack."

Netanyahu called on the United Nations to intensify sanctions on Iran, stressing the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also addressed the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, declaring, "My country is at war, fighting for its existence, and we are winning this fight."

Referring to the conflict with Hamas in Gaza, Netanyahu claimed that nearly half of Hamas' 40,000 fighters had been killed or captured by Israeli forces, and 90% of their rocket arsenal had been destroyed. He clarified that Israel does not intend to reoccupy Gaza but seeks a "demilitarized and de-radicalized" region.

In his speech, Netanyahu reiterated Israel's commitment to defeating both Hamas and Hezbollah, stating that Israel will not rest until its citizens are secure and free from these threats.
