Sept 29, V7N- Iran has called for a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting following Israel's killing of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, raising concerns over Israel's military actions in Lebanon and the broader region. In a letter to the 15-member body, Iran's U.N. ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, emphasized Tehran's strong opposition to attacks on its diplomatic missions and personnel, invoking international law and the principle of inviolability of diplomatic premises. Iravani warned that Iran would not tolerate further aggression and would take measures to defend its national and security interests, suggesting the potential for a broader escalation if tensions continue.

This move reflects Iran's growing alarm over Israel's recent strikes, not only in Lebanon but also in areas where Iranian interests and allies, such as Hezbollah, are active. By seeking the UNSC's involvement, Iran appears to be aiming for international condemnation of Israel's actions while highlighting the risks of further destabilization in the region.
