Tehran, Oct 03 (V7N) — Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei advised Hezbollah leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah to leave Lebanon just days before his death in an Israeli attack, according to three Iranian sources cited by Reuters. This move indicates growing concerns within Tehran about Israeli infiltration into senior ranks of the Iranian government.

The sources revealed that after the September 17 Israeli attack on Hezbollah, Khamenei sent an urgent message via an emissary, urging Nasrallah to relocate to Iran. The warning was based on intelligence reports that suggested Israeli agents had infiltrated Hezbollah and were planning to assassinate Nasrallah.

The message was delivered by senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan. He was reportedly with Nasrallah in a bunker when the Israeli bomb struck, killing both men.

Following the attack, Khamenei himself was relocated to a secure location within Iran. It was reported that he personally ordered the launch of nearly 200 missiles on Israeli targets as retaliation for the deaths of Nasrallah and Nilforoushan, as well as for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's killing in Tehran last July.

Israel has yet to claim responsibility for Haniyeh’s death, but the country's operations have reportedly inflicted heavy damage on Hezbollah, including the destruction of its weapons facilities and significant losses among its leadership and military command.
