Iran has strengthened its defense system amid regional tensions. Iran's relations with Israel and the United States are heating up along with the unstable Middle East situation. In such circumstances, the country on Saturday (February 17) unveiled two completely new defense systems. In a report, the US news media Reuters reported this information.
According to the report, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, Iran has been against Tel Aviv and the West. Tehran has been accused of supporting various groups, including the Houthi-Hezbollah, despite not taking any direct action against its enemies. Even, the United States has been blaming Iran for attacks on US bases one after another in the Middle East.
Washington-Tehran relations have become more heated over the past few months with reciprocal threats and warnings. In such a situation, Iran unveiled a new defense system to send a message that it is ready to face any move by its enemies. In the presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, the 'Arman Anti Ballistic Missile System' and 'Azarakhs' air defense system were brought forward for the first time.
Iran claims that both weapons are completely made of its own technology. Meanwhile, the 'Arman Anti Ballistic Missile System' is capable of hitting six targets simultaneously. This defense system can deal with enemy attacks from a distance of 120 to 180 km.
Azarakhs air defense system, can detect and destroy targets within 50 km. The system has four ready-to-fire missiles. Iran claims that these two new weapons have increased its defense capabilities several times.
Earlier, last June, for the first time, Iran unveiled its own 'hypersonic ballistic missile'. The missile named 'Fattah' is capable of hitting targets up to 1400 kilometers away.
