Washington, Dec 02 (V7N) — US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Donald Lu, will embark on a regional visit to India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal from December 3 to December 10. His mission aims to strengthen cooperation with key partners in Asia while promoting regional prosperity and security, according to a statement from the US State Department.

In New Delhi, Donald Lu will focus on advancing the US-India Indo-Pacific inclusive policy. He will co-lead the US-India East Asia Dialogue alongside US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and the Pacific, Daniel Krittenbrink. Additionally, Lu will engage in separate meetings with senior Indian officials to address global and regional issues, fostering closer bilateral ties.

On December 5, the Assistant Secretary will visit Colombo, Sri Lanka. There, he will meet with senior Sri Lankan leaders to discuss joint efforts aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth, combating corruption, and enhancing people-to-people connections between the two nations.

Donald Lu will then travel to Kathmandu, Nepal, where he will meet with senior Nepali leaders to review progress on environmental protection, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development initiatives.

The visit underscores the United States' commitment to bolstering partnerships across South Asia, addressing regional challenges, and fostering mutual development. Following his meetings in Nepal, Donald Lu will return to the United States.
