Dec 09, (V7N) - Dr. Hossam Abu Safiyeh, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, has issued an urgent appeal for international assistance as the facility faces critical shortages of electricity, oxygen, and water due to damage caused by nearby shelling and bombing. The hospital, located in Beit Lahia, is one of the last operational medical centers in northern Gaza and is operating at minimal capacity.
Dr. Safiyeh reported that over 100 patients, including six in intensive care and 14 children, are at significant risk as the hospital struggles to maintain essential medical services. Continued military activity in the vicinity has hindered necessary repairs to restore power and water.
The situation underscores the broader humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid ongoing conflict, with calls for urgent international intervention to protect medical facilities and ensure access to critical care.
