Beirut, Feb 03 (V7N)— Nearly five months after his death, former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is set to be reburied with full religious rites on Friday, February 23. The armed group announced that it would give its late leader a proper farewell in a formal ceremony.
Hezbollah’s current chief, Naim Qassem, confirmed the reburial in a video message, stating that the event would be conducted in accordance with religious customs.
Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut on September 27, 2024. However, news of his death was withheld for some time, and he was buried hastily due to security concerns.
The reburial is expected to be a significant event for Hezbollah and its supporters, with heightened security measures in place as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
