Gaza, Feb 09 (V7N) – Hamas has released three more Israeli prisoners as part of a prisoner exchange under the latest internationally brokered ceasefire deal. In return, Israel has freed 183 Palestinian prisoners.
The released Israeli hostages—Eli Sharabi, Ohad Bin Ami, and Or Levi—were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross on Saturday morning. Following their release, they were safely reunited with their families in Israel.
Meanwhile, the freed Palestinian prisoners were greeted with celebrations in Ramallah, located in the occupied West Bank. According to their representatives, all released individuals are in need of medical care, though specific details were not provided.
Since the ceasefire came into effect, a total of 21 Israeli prisoners and 566 Palestinian prisoners have been released as part of ongoing negotiated exchanges. The ceasefire, brokered by international mediators, aims to ease tensions in the region following months of conflict and violence.
Both sides have expressed conditional support for continuing the ceasefire, but the situation remains fragile, with further developments expected in the coming days.
