Moscow, May 7 (V7N) — Russia has reported that Ukraine has carried out drone attacks on Moscow for two consecutive nights, leading to the temporary closure of all four airports in the Russian capital. The country’s air traffic control agency, Rosaviatsiya, announced the decision on Telegram, stating that it was taken to ensure the safety of air travel.
Moscow's Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that at least 19 Ukrainian drones were destroyed on Monday night. The Russian military reported that it had downed more than 100 drones across the country. Earlier, on Monday, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that it had successfully intercepted and destroyed 26 Ukrainian drones in the previous night’s attack.
In addition to Moscow, drone attacks have been reported in other Russian cities, including Penza and Voronezh. The governors of these regions confirmed that their areas were targeted by Ukrainian drones on Monday night.
The drone strikes come amid ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and both sides continue to exchange military strikes as part of the ongoing conflict.
