Vienna, June 17 (V7N) — The uranium enrichment centrifuges at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility have suffered severe damage following Israel’s recent attack, according to Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In an interview with the BBC on Tuesday, Grossi confirmed that while the centrifuges were not completely destroyed, the Israeli strike caused significant disruption to the site’s operations. He also revealed that an above-ground reactor at Natanz was completely destroyed, leading to a widespread power outage at the facility.

The Natanz nuclear complex is a central part of Iran’s uranium enrichment program. The extent of the damage is expected to severely impact Iran’s nuclear activities in the coming months.

Grossi further noted that Iran’s underground Fordow nuclear facility remains intact, showing no visible signs of damage from the recent air raids. However, the Isfahan nuclear facility, which contains four buildings, has been partially affected by the attacks.

The Israeli military launched a series of coordinated strikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities last Friday, escalating tensions in an already volatile Middle East. The attacks have prompted renewed international concern over the future of Iran’s nuclear program and the growing risk of wider regional conflict.
