Doha, June 24 (V7N) — Iran has confirmed it launched a missile strike targeting a U.S. military base in Qatar. In an official statement, Iran’s Armed Forces announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out the attack under the codename “Ya Aba Abdillah Al-Hussein.”

The operation, referred to as Basharat Fateh (Glad Tidings of Victory), specifically targeted the Al Udeid Air Base — the largest U.S. military installation in the Gulf region — with what Iran described as “destructive and powerful missiles.”

Following the strike, the IRGC issued a stern warning to Washington and its allies, stating that Iran's message is "clear." The statement further emphasized that any assault on Iran’s regional integrity, sovereignty, or national security “will not go unanswered.”

The Al Udeid Air Base hosts approximately 10,000 American troops and serves as the forward headquarters of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). While initial reports from U.S. defense sources are yet to confirm the full extent of the damage or casualties, the Iranian announcement marks a serious escalation in the broader conflict unfolding across the Middle East following the Iran-Israel confrontation.

This missile strike also signals Iran’s intent to project military strength beyond its borders and to challenge the presence of U.S. forces in the Gulf, particularly as regional tensions continue to mount.
