Tehran, June 28 (V7N) — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that while Iran suffered human losses during the recent 12-day war with Israel and the United States, the nation did not cede “an inch of soil or dignity.”
Speaking at the state funeral in Tehran on Saturday for those killed in the conflict, Araghchi remarked, “Iran’s losses will be remembered as a symbol of national resistance.” He emphasized that “blood has been shed, but Iranians have not given up an inch of dignity; children have been lost, but Iranians have not lost honor. They stood under thousands of tons of bombs, but they have not surrendered.”
In a post on his official Instagram account, Araghchi highlighted that while infrastructure damaged in the war can be rebuilt, “a nation's pride is more valuable than anything else.”
He described the war as a defining moment that would “shine like a pearl” in Iran’s history and asserted that the country had emerged “more powerful and dignified in the eyes of the world.”
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region following the ceasefire declared earlier this week.
