Gaza, Sept 29 (V7N) – Israel has intensified its military operations in Gaza, ignoring the recent peace initiative proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The attacks, involving widespread airstrikes and drone strikes, have left thousands of Palestinian residents displaced, with civilians struggling to find safe shelter as bombings continue across the region.
On Sunday, Israeli forces targeted at least 140 locations in Gaza City and central Gaza over 24 hours. Residential buildings, public facilities, and infrastructure have been heavily damaged. More than 4 lakh Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes, many seeking refuge in the Nuseirat, Maghazi, Deir al-Balah, and Bureij camps. Even areas designated as “humanitarian zones” in Al-Mawasi and Khan Yunis have not provided safety, as drone strikes continue to follow displaced families.
Displaced residents are attempting to set up temporary shelters along the coastal road, facing severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies. Children, women, and the elderly are among those enduring extreme hardship, living in makeshift tents under constant threat of attack.
According to reports from AP and Al Jazeera, the ongoing military escalation has created one of the most severe humanitarian crises in Gaza in recent years. Humanitarian agencies warn that without immediate intervention and ceasefire measures, the crisis is likely to worsen, further endangering civilians and worsening living conditions in the already densely populated region.
Israeli authorities have justified the airstrikes as part of ongoing military operations against militant groups, but the impact on civilians has drawn international criticism. Diplomatic efforts are reportedly underway to establish temporary ceasefire arrangements, yet no official truce has been agreed upon.
The situation remains highly volatile, with displaced residents facing not only immediate physical danger but also long-term disruption to housing, education, healthcare, and essential services. International observers continue to monitor the conflict closely, urging both sides to prioritize civilian protection and humanitarian access.
