Tehran, Mar 24 (V7N) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it carried out the 78th round of retaliatory strikes under its ongoing military campaign, “Operation True Promise 4,” in the early hours of March 24.
According to a statement reported by Tasnim News Agency, the latest phase of the operation was dedicated to the people of Iran’s eastern regions, including North Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, and Sistan-Baluchistan provinces.
The IRGC claimed that the strikes targeted several key locations in Israel, including Tel Aviv, as well as US military bases in the region. The attacks were reportedly conducted using Emad and Qadr multi-warhead missiles, along with combat drones equipped with precision strike capabilities.
The statement further noted that a significant portion of IRGC and Basij forces has not yet been directly involved in the conflict, warning that their participation could further escalate the situation if required.
The IRGC also accused its adversaries of attempting to alter the course of the conflict and warned of swift and severe retaliation against those who initiate or support further aggression.
Tensions in the region have sharply escalated following a major military campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran after the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on February 28. The campaign reportedly involved extensive airstrikes on both military and civilian targets, causing casualties and significant infrastructure damage.
The situation remains highly volatile, with fears of a broader regional conflict intensifying amid continued exchanges of military action and threats.
