Brussels, Oct 02 (V7N) – The European Green Party has strongly condemned Israel’s seizure of the Gaza-bound aid flotilla and the detention of human rights activists on board, calling the action a violation of international law.
In a statement, party vice-president Bhula Setsi described the obstruction of humanitarian aid and the silencing of independent observers as “unacceptable.” She urged all European institutions and national governments to take immediate measures to ensure the safety and release of those detained.
Setsi also called for the urgent delivery of life-saving aid to civilians in Gaza, an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and actions to hold the Israeli government accountable. She emphasized that European governments and the European Union must act to prevent further humanitarian violations and stop the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
The European Green Party, also known as the European Greens, is a multinational political party representing national green parties across Europe.
