In a bold move, Ukraine has launched attacks on two large Russian warships anchored off the coast of the Crimean Peninsula. The Ukrainian military announced the successful attack on the Russian ships Yamal and Azhve, located near occupied Crimea, in a statement released on Sunday (March 24).

In addition to targeting the warships, Ukrainian forces also conducted strikes on various facilities, including a communication center of the Russian Navy in the Black Sea, overnight. The attacks resulted in damage to several vehicles and structures.

Tragically, amidst the hostilities, an elderly man in his sixties lost his life in Ukraine, with half a dozen more civilians sustaining injuries as a result of the attacks.

The escalation of violence in the region underscores the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, particularly in the disputed territory of Crimea. The situation remains fluid, with both sides closely monitoring developments and potential retaliatory actions.
