Khartoum, Dec 07 (V7N) — A devastating drone attack on a kindergarten in Sudan’s South Kordofan region has killed at least 50 people, including 33 children, according to the country’s military-backed Foreign Ministry.

The attack struck a kindergarten in the town of Kalogi on Thursday, hitting the building twice — first targeting the school and then hitting local residents and doctors who rushed to rescue the trapped victims.

Sudan’s Doctors Network, a national medical organization, has blamed the assault on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the powerful paramilitary group currently engaged in a brutal conflict with Sudan’s military. However, neither the Sudanese military nor the RSF has issued an official statement regarding the incident.

The attack is one of the deadliest targeting children since the conflict erupted last year, raising further alarm over the escalating violence against civilians in Sudan’s war zones.
