Recent heavy rains in southern China have sparked warnings of the worst floods the region has seen in a century, according to a report from China's state media Xinhua. The floods have already claimed the lives of four individuals, with an additional 10 people reported missing.

The hardest-hit area is Guangdong, China's most populous province, where the torrential rains have caused widespread devastation. More than 60,000 residents have been evacuated from their homes to safer locations as a precautionary measure.

In response to the crisis, officials in Guangdong have urged local departments and municipalities to activate emergency plans to mitigate the impact of natural disasters. Additionally, disaster response funds and essential supplies have been swiftly allocated to ensure that affected individuals have access to necessities such as food, clothing, water, and shelter.
