Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, often criticized as the "butcher of the Middle East," finds himself besieged by mounting pressures both domestically and internationally regarding the Gaza and Palestine issues, alongside his key ally, the formidable US President Joe Biden. Both leaders are contending with widespread protests and demonstrations erupting in their respective countries.

Across the United States, anti-Israel protests are gaining momentum, particularly on university campuses, prompting a significant response from law enforcement. Police have undertaken mass arrests to suppress the demonstrations, with approximately 900 individuals detained thus far. Despite the heavy-handed tactics employed, protestors remain resolute in their solidarity with Gaza, demanding an end to US universities' financial ties with Israel.

These protests have now spread to more than 30 universities across the US, with tensions escalating rapidly. Most recently, Carolyn Fahlin, president of Emory University, joined a demonstration in support of Palestine, only to be forcibly removed and arrested by local authorities. The scenes on university campuses resemble battlefields, with students and faculty expressing outrage and dismay over the situation.

The unrest initially ignited at Columbia University but has since spread to other prestigious institutions nationwide, including Harvard and Yale. Protesting students are calling on universities to divest from institutions complicit in the Israeli military campaign, including those involved in weapons production. Faculty members at several universities have voiced support for the demonstrators and expressed distrust in the authorities' handling of the situation.

According to reports from Al Jazeera, over 275 protesters were arrested on Saturday alone, spanning universities such as Northeastern University in Boston, Arizona State University, Indiana University in Bloomington, and Washington University in St. Louis. At Harvard University, protestors boldly raised the Palestinian flag in a symbolic act of solidarity, typically reserved for the US national flag, while a giant Palestinian flag was hoisted atop the Washington Hilton Hotel, signaling the widespread support for Gaza's plight.
