The bodies of three Israeli hostages have been recovered from Gaza, the Israeli Defense Ministry announced. The operation, which took place in the northern Gaza city of Jabalia, was conducted jointly with Israel's internal intelligence agency, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported to the BBC on Friday, May 24.

The IDF identified the deceased as Hanan Yablonka, Michel Nissenbaum, and Orion Hernandez.

Hanan Yablonka (42) and Orion Hernandez (32)were both victims of an ambush by Hamas gunmen on October 7 last year. They were fleeing the Nova Music Festival, where over 360 young attendees were killed. Michel Nissenbaum (59)was last seen taking his four-year-old granddaughter to meet her father at an army base on the Gaza border. His body was found during the recent operation.

Orion Hernandez was also identified as the boyfriend of Shani Luke, whose body was one of three hostages recovered last week.

The recovery of these bodies highlights the ongoing tensions and tragic losses resulting from the conflict in the region. The Israeli Defense Ministry and IDF continue to work on recovering hostages and maintaining security operations in Gaza.

This recent development adds to the series of efforts by Israeli authorities to address the aftermath of violent incidents and ensure the safe return of all hostages.
