Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the urgent need to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza and reiterated his support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli crisis. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) in Beijing on Thursday, Xi highlighted the importance of justice, mutual respect, and equity in achieving lasting security.

Addressing the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Tunisia, Xi expressed his "deep pain" over the severe humanitarian situation in Gaza, where the ongoing conflict has resulted in significant civilian casualties. He stressed that the war cannot continue indefinitely, and the absence of justice cannot be tolerated forever.

Xi called for a strong commitment to the two-state solution, which envisions peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine. He underscored that mutual respect and harmony are essential for living together in a turbulent world, and that equity and justice are the cornerstones of lasting security.

"The most urgent need at the moment is to stop the war in Gaza to prevent the widening impact on regional peace and stability and to avert a larger humanitarian crisis," Xi said. He emphasized that no more innocent blood should be shed and called for an immediate ceasefire.

China, consistent with the stance of many Arab countries, supports Palestinian membership in the United Nations and advocates for immediate humanitarian aid. Xi announced an additional 500 million yuan (approximately $69 million) in humanitarian assistance for the Palestinians.

Xi's remarks at CASCF highlight China's proactive role in seeking a resolution to the Gaza conflict and reinforcing its commitment to the two-state solution as the pathway to lasting peace and stability in the region.
