Patna, (13 June 2024)  — Chirag Paswan, once dismissed as a flop hero in Bollywood, has rapidly ascended to a significant position in Indian politics. This year, he secured a remarkable victory in the Lok Sabha elections from Hajipur constituency in Bihar, garnering over six lakh votes and earning a ministerial position in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet.

Chirag ventured into Bollywood in 2011, starring opposite Kangana Ranaut in the film *Mile Na Mile Hum*. The movie, released in November 2011, failed disastrously at the box office, earning an IMDb rating of 1.5. Following this setback, Chirag disappeared from the silver screen, despite occasional discussions about his film career.

Chirag's political journey starkly contrasts his Bollywood experience. Guided by his father, veteran politician Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag transitioned into politics. In 2014, he contested and won the Lok Sabha seat from Jamui in Bihar.

Chirag's charm and political acumen quickly made him a significant figure in Bihar politics. He retained his seat in the 2019 general elections. However, following his father's death in 2020, Chirag faced political turmoil, clashing with his uncle, Pashupati Paswan, over the political legacy.

Despite the political setbacks and his departure from the NDA before the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020, Chirag did not give up. Recognizing his potential, the BJP welcomed him back in 2023. This year's Lok Sabha elections saw Chirag representing the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) as part of the NDA. He won the Hajipur seat, previously held by his father, defeating the RJD candidate by a margin of approximately 170,000 votes.

Chirag's victory and his growing popularity culminated in his appointment to Modi's central cabinet, where he has been entrusted with the Ministry of Food Processing. His journey from a Bollywood flop to a prominent political leader has been remarkable, earning him widespread recognition and support.

Chirag Paswan's story is one of resilience and determination. Despite his initial failure in Bollywood, he has emerged as a prominent leader in Indian national politics, carrying forward his father's legacy and making significant strides in his political career.
