Former President Donald Trump, who is also a candidate in the upcoming presidential election, has announced a new proposal to grant green cards to foreign graduates of U.S. colleges and universities. Trump emphasized that this initiative would be a central issue in his campaign.

In an interview on the All-In Podcast, which aired on Thursday, Trump expressed his intention to streamline the process for talented individuals to stay in the United States after graduation. He highlighted the importance of retaining graduates from prestigious institutions such as Harvard and MIT, among others.

"It is sad to lose graduates from Harvard and MIT and other institutions," Trump stated. He proposed that green cards should be automatically available upon graduation, including for those from junior colleges. This policy, he argued, would significantly increase the number of new citizenship applications each year.

Trump's proposal is expected to enhance his standing within the Republican Party by addressing the issue of talent retention. He explained his vision for foreign students, saying, "What I want to do and what I will do is, you graduate from a college, I think you should get a green card as part of your diploma to stay in this country."

This initiative aims to ensure that the United States benefits from the skills and contributions of international graduates, thereby bolstering the country's workforce and innovation capacity.
