Gaza Strip, June 22, 2024- Hamas remains firm in its demand for a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing willingness to support any initiative aimed at ending the war. Ismail Haniya, head of the political wing of Hamas, reiterated this stance, emphasizing the group's readiness to accept any proposal that ensures the cessation of attacks on Gaza.

Haniya stated that halting war crimes against Palestinians is now the top priority for Hamas. The organization has also called for a ceasefire from Israel before any withdrawal of troops from Gaza, coupled with a proposal for a prisoner exchange agreement.

However, Israel has made it clear that its military operations in Gaza will not cease until Hamas is completely dismantled. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that the offensive will continue unabated, highlighting the stark divide between the two sides amid the ongoing conflict.
