Gaza Strip, 06 July 2024 - In the past 24 hours, Israeli airstrikes have killed 40 Palestinians, including two journalists, in the besieged Gaza Strip, raising the death toll from the nine-month-long conflict to 38,000, with over 87,000 Palestinians injured.

Gaza authorities reported that Israeli forces targeted central and southern regions, including the Maghaizi, Jabalia, and Nuseirat camps, as well as Rafah. The attacks also struck various health centers and relief camps in refugee areas, leading to significant casualties.

The conflict began on October 7 of last year when Gaza's ruling party, Hamas, launched an attack on Israel. In retaliation, Israel initiated continuous airstrikes on Gaza. Over the past nine months, these strikes have hit civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, mosques, and churches. The majority of the 38,000 fatalities have been women and children, reflecting the devastating impact on the civilian population.
