Kulgam, July 7 2024 – In a series of violent incidents, two Indian soldiers lost their lives during an anti-terror operation in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attacks, which took place on Saturday, also resulted in the deaths of four armed group members, with four others believed to be in hiding, according to media reports from NDTV.

The anti-terror operation was launched following specific intelligence that members of the armed group were hiding in two separate locations in Kulgam. The incidents unfolded as follows:

One soldier was killed during heavy firing in Modegam village. Two members of the armed group were trapped in a house during the army's operation. The soldiers were attacked suddenly, leading to the death of one soldier.

Another soldier was killed in Frisal. Drone footage captured a body lying on the ground, identified as a member of the armed group. One soldier was injured in the operation. The heavy firing by the armed group prevented the recovery of the bodies of their deceased members.

The Indian Army reported intense clashes over the past few days between its forces and pro-independence groups in the region. The security situation remains tense as operations continue to locate and neutralize the remaining armed group members believed to be hiding in the area.

The deaths of the two soldiers underscore the ongoing violence and instability in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the challenges faced by security forces in combating armed groups and maintaining order in the region.
