Kolkata, August 16 —The murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College has sent shockwaves across India, prompting the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the case. Recent revelations have added to the gravity of the situation, highlighting disturbing details about the accused’s actions leading up to the crime.

According to sources close to the investigation, the accused, identified as a hospital staff member, was seen on CCTV footage at RG Kar Medical College around 11 p.m. on the night of the incident. He was observed entering the hospital before leaving shortly thereafter. It has since emerged that he visited a location known for sexual activities before returning to the hospital.

Investigators have found that the accused consumed alcohol at this site before returning to RG Kar Medical College. He re-entered the hospital and was again captured on CCTV near the seminar hall on the fourth floor of the emergency department around 4 a.m. The footage shows him leaving the premises approximately 30 to 35 minutes later.

The woman doctor’s body was discovered in the seminar hall the following morning, with evidence suggesting she was both raped and murdered. The accused was arrested on the night of the crime based on CCTV footage and a torn headphone found at the crime scene. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime.

The CBI is now handling the case, as the nation grapples with the implications of this brutal act. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the full details of the crime and ensure justice for the victim.
