New Delhi, August 22 -- In a recent report, Russian media outlet Sputnik has alleged that the United States is secretly plotting to destabilize the Indian government, following a similar pattern to its alleged role in the fall of Sheikh Hasina's administration in Bangladesh.
According to Sputnik, the CIA is reportedly working behind the scenes to undermine Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The report suggests that US intelligence is engaging with the Baptist Church of Andhra Pradesh and opposition leaders in India to create political instability. The aim, as claimed by Sputnik, is to break the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which supports Modi’s BJP, by targeting key political figures, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The report further claims that recent meetings between US Consul General Jennifer Larsen and several Indian political leaders, such as AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi and Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and Chandrababu Naidu, are part of this alleged strategy. Sputnik views these diplomatic interactions with suspicion, suggesting they may be linked to efforts to destabilize the Modi government.
The allegations come amidst ongoing political tensions in India and parallels drawn with the recent political upheavals in Bangladesh, where Hasina’s government fell amid mass protests.
