Tehran, August 22 – A new cabinet has been officially formed in Iran under the leadership of reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian. On Wednesday, the Iranian parliament approved the proposed cabinet, marking a significant shift from the hardline administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi. This development was confirmed by Iran's state media.

The new cabinet consists of 19 ministers, whose appointments followed days of intense debate in Parliament. Among the key figures in the new administration is Abbas Arakchi, who has been elected as Foreign Minister with 247 votes. Arakchi is widely recognized for his pivotal role in the 2015 nuclear deal negotiations with six world powers.

This cabinet formation comes 12 days after Masoud Pezeshkian was sworn in as the ninth president of Iran. On August 11, he put forward the names of his proposed ministers, ushering in a new era of reformist leadership in the country.
