Will the PTI-backed winners be able to form the government even if they advance by a huge margin? This has become the biggest question after Pakistan's elections. Two days after the polls, there is still confusion over the formation of the new government. Barrister Gahar Ali, chairperson of the party, who is leading the party in the absence of Imran Khan, has made it clear that the coalition will not form the government.
Ahead of the polls, a succession of cases and convictions have been filed in Pakistan by activists of the embattled Imran Khan's party PTI. The registration of the party was cancelled. Jailed party leader too. Therefore, a large number of party leaders fought the election battle as independents without symbols.
The opposition of the military, the ban of the court could not suppress the PTI. Although the party has been cornered in many ways, ordinary Pakistanis have made a revolution at the ballot box.
Imran Khan, confident in the news of the victory of his party's candidates, said that all steps have been taken to suppress the people's demands. Still, the people have given their verdict through huge participation. No force can suppress what the time demands.
Meanwhile, PTI has made it clear that Nawaz Sharif's party will not form an alliance with Pakistan Muslim League or Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's party-PPP. Now the question is - PTI supported independent candidates will be able to form a single government? Although the issue is difficult, the chairperson of the hopeful party, Gahar Ali Khan.
He said, we are not in touch with PML-N and PPP. PTI will form the government at the center and in the provincial assemblies of Punjab.
But analysts say, even if PTI forms a government, it will be a weak government. MPs can leave the party at any moment due to various threats and temptations. As there is no party, the quota of reserved seats in the parliament will not be available. Even more important is the Pakistan Army. Because there are allegations that Imran government fell in Kalkathi. This time they will allow those Imran supporters to form the government of Pakistan army? That question remains.
However, as the idea of most of the politicians is closely watched by the army, Nawaz Sharif's party PML-NE will finally form the government, overriding all speculations. Bilawal Bhutto's People's Party will agree to the coalition despite opposing the election campaign.
