On Friday, December 29, the MV Gayehera-4, carrying 1,422 tonnes of fly ash, overturned in the Shibsa River in Khulna. However, no one was injured in the incident.


The Nallian Naval Police Station rescued 12 men who were still alive on the ship.

According to Tarak Chandra Nath, inspector of the Nallian Naval Police Station, the lighter vessel, MV Gayehera-4, became stranded in the Nallian section of the Shibsa River.

A crew of river police responded to the information and rescued the sailors.

Ship movement on the Shibsa River is normal.
The lighter vessel was transporting 1,422 metric tonnes of fly-ash (cement raw material) from India to a cement facility in Bangladesh's Ghorashal region.
