Dhaka, Oct 10 (V7N)- The government has assured the public that all necessary security measures are in place to ensure a safe and peaceful Durga Puja celebration this year. AFM Khalid Hossain , Religious Affairs Advisor, confirmed this while visiting the Banani Puja Mandap on Thursday afternoon.

Hossain emphasized that a control room has been established at the ministry to monitor the situation closely, and there is no cause for concern regarding the security of the Puja festivities. He reassured the public that everyone has the constitutional right to practice their religion freely and that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the celebrations.

"There is no fear in this Puja," Hossain said, dismissing any exaggerated claims of attacks on minority groups. He reiterated that the interim government is focused on maintaining peace and stability, not on ruling the country. "Our main priority is to create a peaceful environment, even if we have limited time," he added.

Hossain also commented on the government's commitment to reform, including the aim of ensuring that no party remains in power beyond two terms.

The assurance of heightened security and government commitment comes as a relief to the Hindu community, who are celebrating Durga Puja , one of their most significant religious festivals.
