Dhaka, Aug 02 (V7N) – Mahfuz Alam, Advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has announced that the long-awaited July Declaration will be officially released before August 5. The final date and time for the announcement may be confirmed as early as today.

Speaking at a rally organized as part of the July Revival Program at the Central Shaheed Minar on Saturday morning, the Information Advisor clarified the distinction between the July Charter and the July Declaration, stating that while both are connected to the July Uprising, they serve different purposes.

“The July Charter is a consensus document developed through extensive discussions with all political parties,” said Alam. “It will be made public, and will clearly outline which parties agree or disagree on various national issues. We’ve reached a stage of compromise, and preparations for publication are nearly complete.”

On the other hand, the July Declaration, Alam explained, will serve as a “documentary record of the people's aspirations” arising from the July Uprising. “It reflects the collective spirit of the people and will narrate the context and projected future of the movement,” he added. However, he noted that it may not include the signatures of all political parties.

Referring to the significance of the July Uprising, Mahfuz Alam remarked, “Bangladesh has entered a new phase through this movement. While the complete transformation of people’s fate may still be pending, the direction is now clear.”

The declaration is expected to further shape the political discourse in the country, especially as it encapsulates the public’s demands and vision following a turbulent political year.
