Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N) — Following a robbery attempt behind the Tantibazar Pujamandap in the capital, Information and Communication Technology Advisor Nahid Islam visited the area late at night, assuring the public that maximum security has been deployed across all Puja Mandaps in the country. His visit came in response to a robbery incident that occurred around 8 PM , where local people and law enforcement quickly intervened and apprehended three suspects.

During his visit, Nahid Islam emphasized the government's firm stance against any attempts to disrupt the peace during the Sharidiya Durga Puja celebrations. "No one will be exempted if they attempt to create anarchy. Those involved in such acts will face exemplary punishment ," he said, underscoring the importance of maintaining security and harmony during the festival.

The advisor commended the local residents and law enforcement officers for their swift action, which resulted in the capture of the robbers before they could flee. Four individuals were injured in the incident, and the assailants reportedly threw a petrol bomb-like object, though authorities confirmed it did not explode.

Nahid Islam assured the public that such incidents would not be tolerated, and the perpetrators would be dealt with severely to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The visit came as a reassurance to worshippers, with heightened security measures already in place to ensure a peaceful celebration of Durga Puja .
