Dhaka, Oct 22 (V7N) – Philosopher, poet, and political analyst Farhad Mazhar has publicly contested the recent claims made regarding former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s verbal resignation. In a Facebook post directed at Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud, Mazhar refuted statements made in response to an interview with President Muhammad Shahabuddin, which addressed the resignation matter.

Mazhar specifically took issue with Mahmud's assertion that Hasina had verbally resigned to the president, stating that this claim is false. According to Mazhar, it was always indicated that Hasina’s resignation would be presented in written form to the president, not verbally. "There was never any mention of a verbal resignation," Mazhar insisted in his post, questioning why Asif Mahmud is now propagating what he considers a false narrative.

Mazhar highlighted his previous call for evidence of the resignation letter, which he says was never shown. He urged Mahmud and other interim government advisers to refrain from spreading confusion and instead focus on finding political solutions to the ongoing situation.

In his post, Mazhar criticized the interim government, accusing it of forming a "military-backed advisory government" under a "fascist constitution" and questioned the legality of such actions. He also challenged the role of high-ranking military officers in the political process, accusing the advisers of conspiring with these officials while disregarding the loyalty and patriotism of ordinary soldiers.

Mazhar warned of the long-term consequences of upholding a "fascist state system" and urged the advisers to acknowledge the disruption they’ve caused. He called for self-reflection and a reevaluation of the decisions made by the interim government, seeking a path toward resolution for the nation.
