Dhaka, Nov 07 (V7N)- Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of Amar Desh, has asserted that Bangladesh’s revolutionary progress remains unaffected by the potential election of Donald Trump in the United States, countering fears that his win could enable a resurgence of fascism or bring back the Awami League.

As the chief guest at an event at the National Press Club on Thursday, Rahman highlighted Bangladesh's sovereignty from foreign influence, particularly from Washington. "Some believe Trump’s victory may pave the way for the Awami League’s return, but our revolution stands strong without any foreign backing. It is entirely our own achievement, immune to shifts in Washington—be it Trump, Biden, or Kamala Harris," Rahman affirmed.

He underscored that Bangladesh’s movement relies solely on the spirit of its people, not external powers, acknowledging the sacrifices of the youth who contributed to building a self-reliant nation. "Our youth have shed blood to create a country that doesn’t seek validation from Washington," he emphasized.

Reflecting on Bangladesh’s recent history, Rahman noted, “For the past 16 years, Bangladesh operated under India’s influence, but our youth have liberated us once again.” He also honored the solidarity shown by workers and the general public who supported the students throughout this transformative period.
