Dhaka, Nov 07 (V7N)- The Power Division's Additional Secretary, Md Razwanur Rahman, has been appointed as the new director general of the Islamic Foundation. This appointment was confirmed through a notice from the Ministry of Public Administration, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Mamun Shiblee, issued on Thursday.
Previously, on September 22, the government had removed former DG Md Bashirul Alam, assigning him to the Ministry of Public Administration. Following Alam’s removal, Md Saiful Islam, an additional secretary in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, served as interim chief of the Islamic Foundation until Razwanur's arrival.
Razwanur entered the Bangladesh Civil Service as an admin cadre through the 17th BCS exams. His career includes roles as assistant commissioner, executive magistrate, assistant commissioner (land), and upazila nirbahi officer. He has also held positions as deputy and joint secretary across various ministries.
Before his recent assignment in the Power Division, Razwanur served as the director general of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
