Dhaka, Nov 08 (V7N) — Professor Asif Nazrul, the interim government's legal, judicial, and parliamentary affairs advisor, was reportedly harassed by Awami League supporters during his visit to Switzerland. A video of the incident, lasting 1 minute and 43 seconds, has since gone viral on social media, showing a group surrounding and confronting him with chants of "Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu."

In the video, some individuals are seen accusing Professor Nazrul of "lying," while he responds, asking, "Why are you touching me?" The incident occurred at Geneva Airport as Professor Nazrul was returning home after a meeting with the governing body of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and other officials.

According to sources from the Bangladesh Embassy and Permanent Mission in Geneva, Professor Nazrul was accompanied by embassy protocol. Shortly after arriving at the airport, he was confronted by a group, who continued their heckling until he entered the terminal. Sources identified Switzerland Awami League President Nazrul Islam Jamadar and General Secretary Shyamal Khan among those present during the incident.

This incident underscores the tension surrounding Bangladesh’s political scene, particularly with Bangladeshi officials and representatives abroad.
